Rachel ChilverSchools Mental Health Consultant
Rachel is an experienced schools’ mental health consultant who is passionate about supporting young people, staff and the wider community to thrive. With almost 20 years’ experience in the education sector, working as an English teacher and mental health lead, she understands the day-to-day demands of school life.
Combining her experience in schools along with the skills she has developed through an accredited counselling diploma, she provides support for staff, pupils and families in primary and secondary schools across The Midlands.

Supporting Pupils Develop a Positive Mindset.
In this session, staff will develop strategies to help them support pupils struggling with low self-esteem to achieve a more positive mindset. Attendees will understand how to reframe negative thinking and learn a range of strategies to support pupils build their emotional resilience. Key focus areas include self-esteem, affirmations, gratitude, reframing negative thought patterns and celebrating personal powers.
Director’s Note:
TAs have shared that they often don’t feel prepared to deal with some of the issues they are being faced with when supporting pupils with their emotional resilience. This session is aimed at supporting them to do this. Perhaps a session for all TAs and SENDCO to attend together?
