Session 3: Learning to Talk
This session is the third of the Oracy series, centred around developing leaders’ knowledge of ‘Learning to Talk’.
The session will look closely at Presentational Talk or ‘Learning to Talk’ and will explore how to create a cohesive and rigorous Oracy curriculum for your school.
The session will focus on the following questions:
- What is Presentational Talk?
- What are the different purposes for talk?
- What curriculum opportunities will teach children Presentational Talk?
- How does Presentational Talk progress from Early Years to Year 6?
We will consider priority actions and next steps to support the development of Oracy – ‘learning to talk’ – in your school.
