Session 1: Introduction to Oracy
This session is designed to provide an introduction to Oracy for leaders, including Senior Leaders, English Subject Leaders and Oracy Champions.
The session will cover key aspects of Oracy, focusing on the following questions:
- What is Oracy?
- Why is Oracy important?
- What is the position of Oracy in the National Curriculum?
- What are the next steps to develop Oracy in your school?
We will explore the core principles of Oracy and the latest research findings into the impact improved Oracy standards can have across the curriculum.
We will consider priority actions and next steps to support Oracy development in your school, focusing on the two key aspects of Oracy – ‘learning through talk’ and ‘learning to talk’.
