This essential whole-staff webinar provides clear, practical guidance on the Department for Education’s updated expectations around restrictive interventions, including the use of reasonable force in schools.
The session supports staff to understand their legal responsibilities, act lawfully and proportionately, and uphold the dignity, safety and wellbeing of all pupils.
The training will cover:
- Key definitions and scope of restrictive interventions
- When and how reasonable force may be used
- The importance of prevention, de-escalation and least-restrictive practice
- Recording, reporting and parental communication expectations
- Considerations for pupils with SEND and additional vulnerabilities
