    He leads Brightcore Consultancy; a team of consultants who have a particular focus on enhancing safeguarding and mental health provision in education settings.

    He is both an Advanced Safeguarding Trainer and Senior Mental Health Lead Trainer.

Description:

This essential whole-staff webinar provides clear, practical guidance on the Department for Education’s updated expectations around restrictive interventions, including the use of reasonable force in schools.

The session supports staff to understand their legal responsibilities, act lawfully and proportionately, and uphold the dignity, safety and wellbeing of all pupils.

The training will cover:

  • Key definitions and scope of restrictive interventions
  • When and how reasonable force may be used
  • The importance of prevention, de-escalation and least-restrictive practice
  • Recording, reporting and parental communication expectations
  • Considerations for pupils with SEND and additional vulnerabilities

This session promotes confident, consistent practice across the whole school community and reinforces a culture rooted in care, safeguarding and professional accountability.
